Thanks Anthony! Completely agree — and it’s something we’re going to have to get better at, especially as our world becomes increasingly multicultural and complex.
In the U.K., the most detailed ethnicity option our declaration forms usually provide is ‘mixed white and Asian’ which in itself feels a bit problematic as ‘Asian’ is a wide net! If we do want to ask people to declare, it only feels right we give them the tools to do so accurately and in a way that actually reflects them and their experience.
